Newham schools provided with re-usable water bottles

Schools served by provider Juniper Ventures in Newham will be provided with branded re-usable water bottles for school trips in a bid to reduce single-use plastic.

In partnership with The Education Space, the project is being done to support the national ‘War on Plastics’ scheme. Each time there is a school trip, the bottles will be filled and issued to pupils, being sterilised afterwards for the next trip.

Managing director of Juniper Ventures and LACA’s immediate past chair, said: “We will no longer be providing drinks in single use plastic packaging for packed lunches any longer and this simple measure – along with other projects we are trialling – is swiftly helping us towards meeting out pledge of reducing single-use plastics across our business.

“We all have a responsibility to think of innovative ways of reducing the use of single-use packaging and I am delighted that through our partnership with The Education Space have been able to achieve just that.”
