Gregg Wallace MBE, the TV presenter, writer and former greengrocer best known for co-presenting the MasterChef series of shows for the BBC, will deliver a keynote address to the Public Sector Catering Expo.

He is just one of a number of speakers set to take party in the two-day event, which is taking place at the NAEC in Stoneleigh, Warwickshire from October 31 to November 1.

Gregg began his career in Covent Garden fruit and veg market, starting George Allen Greengrocers, a company that built up to a turnover of £7.5m.

Based on his business success, he was invited to co-present Veg Talk on BBC Radio 4 and later became the original presenter of Saturday Kitchen in 2002.

His other TV projects have included Eat Well For Less, Inside The Factory, Turn Back Time and Harvest for the BBC. He has also presented a travel series for ITV and several outings of Gregg’s Long Weekender for Channel 5.

He has written books, including his autobiography in 2012 Life On A Plate and most recently, in 2019, Gregg’s Italian Kitchen.

In 2020 he started his own Health and Fitness business ShowMeFit, which has become a successful brand working with people to live a healthier and sustainable lifestyle.

Gregg’s presence at the PSC Expo adds to the programme of an event that aims bring together chefs and caterers from across the public sector who help to feed the nation healthy, nutritious and sustainable food.

As well as a lively speaker programme, there will be an exhibition of more than 100 suppliers, informative cooking demonstrations, and Exercise Joint Caterer (EJC) will once again be taking place alongside the Expo.

EJC is the flagship event for Armed Forces chefs and catering teams - a tri-service competition with a wide range of culinary classes that showcases the role military caterers play in the delivery of an effective armed force.
